The German luxury automaker has recently been in the news for the uncompromising design approach it will take for its upcoming offerings. The company announced that it will introduce the next generation of electric vehicles.
With that announcement, BMW also stated that it will not compromise on the design of these electric vehicles because of any mechanical limitations which include the car's Powertrain and battery pack dimensions. Therefore, it was no surprise that BMW was asked to design the interior of Virgin Hyperloop One train.
Technology companies like SpaceX are hailing hyperloop trains as the future of fast long-distance public transportation. In partnership with Virgin, BMW Designworks revealed the cabin for Virgin Hyperloop One project.
The Hyperloop system has been scheduled to be built in Dubai and the company along with its partner BMW showcased the design at Dubai's City Walk. The company presented the design by showing the public a full-scale prototype of the hyperloop cabin. This is the first time a model like this has been shown to the public.
Even though the Hyperloop train will not have any doors or windows, the design team managed to work around these limitations and the result is one of the most futuristic cabins to have ever existed. To enrich the experience of passengers even further, BMW's design team took inspiration from a wide range of traditional Arabic patterns.
This approach helped the company make relatable and intentional cultural references and present a progressive interpretation and futuristic design. The company claims that when finished Hyperloop One will be able to achieve speed which will be upwards of 670mph, which means it is possible that the journey from Dubai to Abu Dhabi will only take 12 minutes.
The futuristic appeal of Hyperloop project is not only skin deep. The cabin also comes with Advanced features and creature Comforts which include temperature adjustable leather seats and touchscreen settings. These settings can be customized by passengers to suit their preferences. The passengers will be able to select the preferred entertainment media and adjust the brightness of the overhead lights and even change their colors.
All of this will be made possible by using a wide array of built-in displays. Virgin Hyperloop has made impressive strides on the technological front. Recently the company was able to show leaders in Saudi how a full-scale test model will function.
The model was able to achieve a top speed of 240 miles per hour during its run making Virgin Hyperloop One a segment leader. Now with the introduction of its full-scale futuristic cabin model, it is obvious the development of Virgin Hyperloop One is maintaining its pace.
The company claims that if the technology is developed as planned Hyperloop One will be functional in Dubai by the year 2021. Earlier Hyperloop One also revealed 11 proposed routes in North America which include Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami, and Orlando.
