The 2024 Skoda Superb is set to be unveiled today, showcasing a fresh design, revamped interior, and updated technology. The upcoming model's exterior design has been previewed through a series of sketches, revealing its sleek proportions in both estate and saloon variants. Drawing inspiration from Skoda's 'Modern Solid' design language, the car features sharper headlights, improved headroom, and enhanced practicality.
Earlier this year, Skoda provided a glimpse of the Superb's interior, which will undergo a complete overhaul. The popular model will now offer customisable rotary controllers, a new infotainment system, and the use of more sustainable materials. The retention of rotary dials is expected to be a hit among buyers. Positioned below the 13.0in infotainment touchscreen, these dials feature a 32mm digital display and can be ergonomically operated.
The two outer dials can be utilized to control seat heating and interior temperature, while the center dial allows adjustments to the infotainment volume, fan speed, air conditioning, driving modes, and the zoom of the sat-nav. Additional features of the Superb include four USB-C ports, massage seats, four-way adjustable lumbar support, and a gear selector now positioned on the steering column.
The fully revealed Superb, which has already been tested in prototype form, will be available for purchase towards the end of 2023. It will offer a range of petrol, diesel, and hybrid options. Skoda has emphasized the significance of its internal combustion engine (ICE) models during the transition to becoming an all-electric car manufacturer. These models cater to the varying speeds at which markets are adopting e-mobility.
In addition to the Superb, Skoda plans to refresh other models in its lineup. The Skoda Octavia, Skoda Kamiq, and Skoda Scala will all receive updates by 2026, while a second-generation Skoda Kodiaq is also in the works.
