Electric Vehicle Startup Neuron EV Reveals its Visionary Smart Vehicle Called ‘HUB'

Neuron was co-founded by veterans from Tesla, Faraday Future's FF91 team, Chrysler, Toyota, Hyundai, Audi, SAIC, and Ford. According to company's profile on Crunchbase, Neuron raised $95 million in seed funding in April 2018 to develop its electric vehicle. Outside of today's announcement, the company has remained in stealth mode.
According to the company, HUB is convergence of electric vehicle technology for ease of mobility, which we presume was designed for on-demand mobility services. The company describes the design vision of HUB as "unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation."
According to Neuron, 2.8 trillion dollars is projected to be lost in traffic by 2030 with gas engine vehicles contributing to 75% of air pollution. Cars are parked 95% of the time and 54% of vehicles travel spans less than 6 miles, so the company designed a vehicle for last mile, urban mobility services.
The company set out to build a vehicle that's more versatile, instead of sitting idle in a parking lot all day the HUB can be summoned as needed.
The HUB is designed for use in urban environments needing a convenient smart transportation system. HUB integrates renewable energy, telecommunications, and cloud computing for ease of mobility, the company says.
Various configurations of HUB vehicles can provide either commercial, public or personal transportation. The HUB activates service through three methods; on-demand ride-hailing, reservations, and traffic detection, where the vehicle can deploy based on current demand. A user can also locate a nearby HUB by GPS through a smartphone app or visit a nearby HUB station.

Rideshare HUBs are designed to operate autonomously at low speeds within a 5-mile radius of a community. Neuron further expands intuitive ride sharing by integration of blockchain technology. Input or scan of a blockchain ID allows HUB service without reservations. Traffic detection software can automatically direct each HUB vehicle to areas with high demand and can even reserve time for scheduled maintenance.
The many uses for the HUB include a cargo transport vehicle, a mobile storage locker, emergency vehicle, ride-sharing vehicle, passenger shuttle services as well as a personal transportation.
If a user wants to reserve a HUB as a personal vehicle, they can choose between basic, comfort, and premium levels of accommodations. A basic HUB comfortably fits a maximum of 6 passengers with abundant cargo space for personal items.
Instead of having separate electric powertrains at the front and rear of the vehicle, Neuron's HUB has the electric motor integrated into the wheels creating a spacious cabin structure for passengers.
HUB's platform rides low for a stable center of gravity and enables efficient induction charging. The HUB's galvanized exterior provides secondary charging capability via solar power.
Signature circuit headlights emphasize HUB's iconic presence, showing off the fact that this is not by any means a ordinary vehicle.
Neuron EV says its currently developing a number of clean energy vehicles for the near future, but has not released any other information at this time.
