Mercedes-Benz Unveils the Production Version of its 252-mile EQV Electric Minivan

Mercedes-Benz first introduced the EQV electric minivan as a concept during the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Now the all-electric minivan is making its debut as the next addition to the Mercedes EQ lineup.
The Mercedes Benz EQV is the first-ever all-electric premium MPV to be offered by the German car manufacturer.
The public can check out the all-new electric minivan at the upcoming 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Sales of the EQV will commence sometime next year.
The all-new Mercedes-Benz EQV is powered by a 100 kWh battery. According to Mercedes-Benz, the electric van will come with 252-mile (405-kilometer provisional estimate) all-electric driving range. The battery pack will also accept rapid charging, allowing drivers to recharge the lithium-ion batteries to 80% in just under one hour.
Other than DC fast charging capability, the EQV also gets a three-phase onboard charger. In true EV tradition, the battery pack is located in the floor and comes mated to a compact electric powertrain comprised of an electric motor, transmission, cooling system, and power electronics.
The compact drivetrain is located on the front axle near the car's charging connection which is positioned on the left side of the front bumper.
The EQV will come with an front-wheel-drive setup and offers a 100 mph top speed thanks to a 204 horsepower electric motor producing 267 ft lbs of torque.
The electric van will be offer two different wheelbases and customers will get the option of picking between a six, seven, or eight seat configuration.
Even though Mercedes Benz EQV is equally positioned for both commercial and private use, in true Mercedes fashion, the interior comes loaded with high-tech features. This includes a 10-inch media display, navigation system and controls for the different driving modes.
The EQV also gets the company's "Mercedes.me" feature, which gives drivers access the world's largest EV charging network with over 300,000 locations. The EV charging sites are managed by several different operators in Europe.
Mercedes.me is an integrated payment function which allows simple invoicing to the quick charging stations including the IONITY network, which was developed as a joint venture by Ford, BMW AG, Daimler AG and Volkswagen AG.
