Lucid Group Announces the Opening of its Newest 'Lucid Studio' in Boston, its 25th Location in North America

Lucid Group's newest Studio Location is at the Seaport District in Boston, MA.

Luxury electric automaker Lucid Group announced the opening of its 25th North American Lucid Studio in the Seaport District of Boston. The Lucid Studio Seaport will officially open to the public on Saturday, April 16. 

Following the opening of the Boston location this week, Lucid will soon open its 26th location at the luxury Gate at Manhasset shopping mall in Long Island, NY.  This location will open later this spring.

"Our Studios in Boston and Manhasset will increase our physical footprint in a market where we see growing demand for electric vehicles – the Northeast," said Zak Edson, Vice President, Sales and Service of Lucid. "These new locations position Lucid next to likeminded, luxury brands and expose us to potential customers who might be discovering the brand for the first time."

Most of the Lucid Studio locations are in major cities, including Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Washington DC. The Studios support Lucid's "direct to customer" sales strategy, which was pioneered by electric automaker Tesla.

In January, Lucid opened a Studio in Newport Beach, CA, which further expanded the company's presence in Southern California. It followed the recently opened Lucid Studios in Costa Mesa, CA, Chicago, IL and Houston, TX.

Like its rival Tesla, Lucid Motors does not have a traditional network of dealerships, so the Studios serve as in-person design centers, where customers can go to see the Lucid Air sedan up close, learn about Lucid's innovative electric powertrain technology, select from the various vehicle options, as well as place their order. 

The Lucid Studios allows customers to experience the brand and obtain and learn more about the company's advanced EV technology in a low pressure, welcoming environment. Customers can also get all of their questions answered about the Lucid Air sedan by product experts. 

Lucid says that each Lucid Studio offers a digitally oriented luxury experience tailored to each customer's preferences, whether they visit in-person, make inquiries entirely online, or combine the two. 

In addition, Lucid Studios augment the physical experience of seeing and touching a Lucid Air with a unique digital experience. 

The Studios features a 4K VR configurator called the Lucid Virtual Reality Experience. It enables customers to explore the Lucid Air inside and out by wearing a VR headset. The VR configurator that allows customers to finalize everything from interior finishes and materials to exterior color and view them in VR as if they were sitting behind the wheel in an immersive environment. Lucid says its the "world's most advanced online vehicle configurator".

Customers can visit the Lucid Studios during normal business hours or can book a personal appointment.

Lucid Studios feature a 4K VR configurator called the "Lucid Virtual Reality Experience".

Lucid is also offering a web-based luxury one-to-one Studio experience online for those customers that prefer to shop from home. The "Lucid Studio Live" is a cloud-based configuration solution powered by ZeroLight's Concierge product. With Lucid Studio Live, customers can interact with a car while a sales representative virtually guides them through key features and configuration options.

Lucid said it will continue to open additional Studio locations as it expands its presence in North America and globally. Alos this week, Lucid announced that the first deliveries of the Lucid Air Grand Touring models have started. To coincide with launch, Lucid announced a brand new version of its Air sedan called Lucid Air "Grand Touring Performance".

The Grand Touring Performance model of the Air is the most powerful electric vehicle on sale today, but will only be available in North America. Customer deliveries in the U.S. are slated to begin in June and by August in Canada. 

The dual-motor Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance delivers 1,050 horsepower with an EPA-estimated driving range of 446 miles. The dual-motors on the front and rear axles can propel the Air Grand Touring Performance from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.6 seconds.
