Luxury electric automaker Lucid Group unveiled a new "Stealth Look" exterior appearance package for the Lucid Air sedan. The darker Stealth Look gives the Air sedan a more aggressive appearance, which is fitting for the 1,000+ horsepower Lucid Air.
The new Stealth Look will be available as an option for Air Grand Touring Performance, Air Grand Touring, and Air Touring, but not for the entry level Lucid Air Pure. The package costs an additional $6,000.
With Lucid's Stealth Look, many of the exterior components of the Lucid Air that would normally be finished in platinum will come painted in a dark "Stealth Satin" finish. These components include the front nose blade, C-pillar flags, and lower door and fascia trim. The Stealth Look option also includes black gloss and satin graphite accents throughout the vehicle to further enhance its overall appearance.
The result is an aggressive look when viewed side by side with the current Platinum Look of the Lucid Air.
The New Stealth Look can be paired with a full palette of exterior colors, including Stellar White, Infinite Black, Cosmos Silver, Quantum Gray, and Zenith Red.
"From its inception, Lucid Air was designed for two distinct looks that reflect the duality of its personality: standard Platinum Look, which highlights its luxurious nature; and now Stealth Look, which is simultaneously assertive yet under-the-radar," said Derek Jenkins, SVP of Design and Brand, Lucid Group.
In total, the Stealth Look darkens 35 components on the exterior of the Lucid Air. Among the most visible changes are the Air's mirror caps and distinctive edge framing of the Glass Canopy roof, which are finished in a dark Stealth color scheme. These darker stealth Satin finishes also carry over to the Air's lower body trim, as well as the trim around the headlights and taillights.
The Stealth Look also includes the wheels. Lucid is offering unique wheel designs and finishes for each wheel size. The 20-inch or 21-inch Aero Sport Stealth wheels will each feature satin black wheel inserts.
Customers can try out the new StealthLook options at one of the company's Lucid Studio retail showrooms beginning on August 10.
The Studios feature the "Lucid Motors Virtual Reality (VR) Experience", which includes a physical display where customers can put on a VR headset while sitting behind the wheel (in the same seats that are found in the production models) of a stationary VR simulator. It allows customers to virtually sit behind and interact with the vehicle's driver controls as if they were in the actual car. The VR configurator also allows customers to finalize options such as interior finishes, materials and exterior colors and view them in VR.
Customers can also utilize Lucid Studio Live, a private virtual tour that lets customers browse and build their Lucid Air with assistance from a Lucid team member.
Each one-to-one tour gives customers ample time to ask questions and provides a 360 degree, virtual reality look at Lucid Air. Customers can experiance views inside the cabin, in the trunk and frunk, to outside, and even above the vehicle in their choice of iconic California backdrops that provides a detailed view of how the Air would look in the real world.
Customers are also offered the opportunity to save their favorite design to their Lucid account and revisit it at a later date.
The Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance delivers up to 1,111 horsepower with 471 miles of EPA estimated range. It has a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 2.5 seconds.
The Air Grand Touring Models, which start at $154,000, offer a peak horsepower of 1,050 and can travel 516 miles on a charge. The less expensive Air Touring model starts at $107,400 with a targeted range of 406 miles. The lowest priced Air model is the Pure with a starting price of $87,400.
"Lucid Air is undeniably one of the highest-performance vehicles on the road as exemplified by the Air Grand Touring Performance, with 1,050 horsepower, which secured the title of fastest production car in the Hillclimb Timed Shootout at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. The sinister style of Stealth Look is a perfect complement."
The new Stealth Look Lucid Air will be on display during Monterey Car Week at Motorlux on Wed, August 17.
