In addition, Kia’s parent, Hyundai Motor Group, has decided that its Kia brand would be in charge of any proposed cooperation with Apple on electric cars, the sources said.

China will lower tariffs on fuel cell-related components imported to the country in 2021 to promote development of the technology. The tariffs on imported fuel cell-related compressors, circulating pump and carbon electrodes will be cut to 5%, 2% and 5% respectively, from the current tariffs of 7%, 7% and 10%, according to a document the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council issued this month.

California ride hailing company Lyft is teaming up with Boston-based Motional on an autonomous ride-hailing service in major cities across the U.S., the companies announced on Wednesday.
