General Motors to Expand Truck Production to Help Fund the Development of New Electric Vehicles
As U.S automaker General Motors prepares to electrify its model lineup over the next few years, the company plans to boost capital spending over the next three years to speed development of battery-powered vehicles, CEO Mary Barra said on Thursday. Based on strong sales of pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles in North America, GM will boost annual capital spending through at least 2023 to fund its accelerated EV plans.
